My own experience with anxiety and phobias sparked a love for neuroscience and a mission to help adults and young people feel calmer, stronger resilient and more confident. 

I've been where you are and understand exactly how exhausting and limiting it can feel....

I get it....

I know how overwhelming it is. I've lived it the overthinking, the 'what ifs', the sense of being stuck. That's why my work with you is focused, supportive and forward moving.

I'll help you understand how your mind works and how to work with it so you can break the cycle of anxiety and limiting beliefs and feel you again.

When we work together we focus on where you want to go, not where you have been. Using a combination of gentle psychotherapy (talking therapy) and solution focused hypnotherapy, we strengthen the part of the brain that is responsible for calm thinking, clear decisions and emotional balance.

Each session we work together to build on the last:

* Increasing confidence and emotional resilience

* Creating healthier patterns of thought

With repetition and the right techniques, your brain begins to form new habits and that becomes your new normal.

Anxiety, depression and anger are often signs your brain has been stuck in protection mode for too long.

 

For many people, this can also show up as low confidence, emotional eating, weight struggles, fears & phobia's, exam pressure or feeling overwhelmed by hormonal changes and life transitions.

 

By working together we combine solution focused coaching with calming, neuroscience based hypnosis to help you retrain and rewire unhelpful patterns, strengthen resilience and feel back in control and without digging up the past.

How It Works. The science....

Solution focused hypnotherapy combines neuroscience, practical conversation and guided relaxation to help your brain function more calmly, clearly and effectively.

When we are stressed, overwhelmed or even busy, the amygdala in our brain is stimulated meaning we spend more time in survival mode. This makes us anxious, reactive or stuck in negative thinking. It can cause us to be fearful and limit our full potential.

As stress reduces, it allows the rational part of our brain, the prefrontal cortex, to work properly again allowing us to regain control of our lives.

We create new healthier neural pathways through psychotherapy, repetition and guided trance. The brain will then begin to 'rewire' itself making positive thinking feel more natural and automatic.  

What do we do?...

We start with an initial consultation. Here we explore what's happening and where you want to be. This is usually a slightly longer appointment and is designed to help you feel completely comfortable and informed. During the session we will discuss;

  • Why you are feeling the way you do

  • How our work together will help you

  • What you would like to be different moving forward

We will then have weekly sessions incorporating solution focused conversation and guided hypnosis. Here we begin strengthening calmer thinking patterns. These sessions can be in-person at The Solution Room or via a zoom meeting from the comfort of your own surroundings. We will discuss:

  • What's has been going well

  • Recognise signs of positive change

  • What you would like more of in your life

  • Practical steps forward

You'll then be guided into a gentle trance state, a natural, deeply relaxing experience similar to daydreaming or being absorbed in a book. The relaxed state allows your mind to strengthen calm positive neural pathways. Reduce stress and over thinking. Improve sleep. Build confidence and resilience. A truly relaxing experience.

During hypnosis you will always remain in control. You can hear everything. You can bring yourself out of trance at any time.

No swinging pocket watches, no loss of control just practical personal training for your mind to help you live the life you want.

After each session clients often leave feeling calm and mentally lighter, clearer and more focussed with optimism and motivation.
